Mario's Musings: A Lightning Round
Okay, I’ll admit, I’ve fallen behind on some reviews, and I’ve watched a lot since December. So here’s a lightening round of quick reviews I wrote for a bunch of things I’ve watched since then.
Mario’s Musings (Video Game Edition): Final Fantasy VII Remake
Well, I finished it.
I actually finished a modern video game not named Legend of Zelda for the first time in a long while, although I usually go out of my way to finish any Final Fantasy game (okay, I haven’t finished XII, XIII, or XV yet).
Don's Digest: Let The Witching Hour Begin (A Review of “The Witcher”)
Let’s be honest… I have a love-hate relationship with the Fantasy genre. The Lord of the Rings trilogy is an unquestionable piece of cinematic gold and The Legend of Zelda laid the groundwork for the entire RPG gaming genre. But, when people talk to me about films such as Labyrinth and Legend or critically-acclaimed television shows like Game of Thrones, I typically respond with a sigh of indifference.
Mario’s Musings (Video Game Edition): Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo
I have a lot of fond memories of my childhood. Of course, I was a bit of a nerd so a lot of those fond memories involved movies, video games, and Legos. And since this review focuses on a video game, let’s go back a bit to my childhood, around 20 years ago to be exact, when I was still in grade school. While I was still enjoying the likes of Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda, one of my best friends, Eric Krause (yeah, he’s getting a name drop here), decided to introduce me to the concept of role-playing games (or RPGs, more on this later), which brought me to the original Final Fantasy VII.
