Mario’s Musings (Christmas Edition): Die Hard
It’s the holiday season, so let’s look at some great Christmas movies!
And since this is a column of semi-hot takes, let’s look at the one movie that causes a debate as to whether or not it’s even a Christmas movie: Die Hard.
Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: Yes, absolutely, it’s a Christmas movie, and let me tell you why.
Mario’s Musings (Quarantine Edition): A Montage of Bad Movies
During the COVID-19 quarantine, three friends and I decided to make a weekly ritual of watching critically panned movies. The only criteria being that they had to have really low Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes scores. And with that, hilarity ensued as the four of us texted each other in a group text and mocked the movies we watched together. So far, we’ve watched Blank Check, Mortal Kombat, Bloodsport, Sidekicks, No Holds Barred, The Main Event, Countdown (2016), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III, Batman & Robin, You (the Netflix series), and Gotti.
Mario’s Musings (Video Game Edition): Final Fantasy VII Remake
Well, I finished it.
I actually finished a modern video game not named Legend of Zelda for the first time in a long while, although I usually go out of my way to finish any Final Fantasy game (okay, I haven’t finished XII, XIII, or XV yet).
Mario’s Musings (Anniversary Edition): Back to the Future
Back to the Future is 35 years old, making your resident reviewer resort to new ways to seem younger than a majority of his favorite films. We all know Back to the Future and everything that comes with it; Marty, Doc, Biff, George, Lorraine, the DeLorean, Einstein, as well as Huey Lewis and the News. It’s a timeless flick… uh... pun somewhat intended.
