Philadelphia Mob Movie to Start Filming This Summer

This summer, one of the most anticipated crime movies will begin filming in Philly. It will star Matthias Schoenaerts, Garrett Hedlund, and Scoot McNairy as they deal with family, friendships, and loyalty within the Philadelphia mob world.

Matthias Schoenaerts, the Belgian actor and star of The Danish Girl and Red Sparrow has become a huge success in Europe in the past couple of years with films like Rust and Bone and Disorder. He is now looking to expand to an American audience and should prove to become a huge star so catch him in Philly before he’s too good for us.

Meanwhile, Garrett Hedlund has just come off the tremendous success of the Oscar nominated film, Mudbound. With these big stars, this film should steer the trend away from the Boston mobs focused on in Dennis Lehane's adaptation and finally focus on the only mob that matters, America’s Mob: The Philadelphia Mob.
