Made In America Remains in Philadelphia

After a lot of speculation, it was revealed that the Made In America Festival is going to remain on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway for years to come. The festival held every Labor Day for the past six years has become a staple of the city and many Philadelphians are now rejoicing.

Earlier this summer, Mayor Kenney’s administration expressed his interest in taking this huge event now synonymous without the city away. Thank God Philadelphia had one half of the biggest power couple in the world to save us: Jay-Z. He wrote an editorial in the Inquirer following the news stating:

We are disappointed that the mayor of the city of Philadelphia would evict us from the heart of the city, through a media outlet, without a sit-down meeting, notice, dialogue, or proper communication. It signifies zero appreciation for what Made In America has built alongside the phenomenal citizens of this city. In fact, this administration immediately greeted us with a legal letter trying to stop the 2018 event.

Finally after much debate from many high profile Philadelphians like the members of The Roots who firmly stand in favor of keeping the Philadelphia landmark event, Mayor Kenney has announced that Made In America will stay. Jay-Z has 99 problems but Mayor Kenney ain't one.

Thank you Jay-Z!
