A lot of stuff is filmed in Philadelphia, but nothing ever seems to actually take place in Philadelphia, unless M. Night Shyamalan is filming it. Limitless was filmed here and then we had to pretend the film took place in New York. But then, Jason Segel came to Philly and seemed to fall in love with the city, which brings us to Dispatches From Elsewhere.

On this edition of The Backstage Pass, I decided to take a look at a man who impacted a generation, LeVar Burton. 

This is a tough one to write because I have to reference the graphic novel in some instances, as this entire season of this show is basically a sequel to the original graphic novel written by Alan Moore back in the 80s. 

I have a lot of fond memories of my childhood. Of course, I was a bit of a nerd so a lot of those fond memories involved movies, video games, and Legos. And since this review focuses on a video game, let’s go back a bit to my childhood, around 20 years ago to be exact, when I was still in grade school. While I was still enjoying the likes of Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda, one of my best friends, Eric Krause (yeah, he’s getting a name drop here), decided to introduce me to the concept of role-playing games (or RPGs, more on this later), which brought me to the original Final Fantasy VII.
