Mario’s Movie Musings (Television Edition): Bluff City Law

I’ll be honest; I’m a sucker for lawyer shows, even though I always cross my fingers so I don’t get picked for jury duty. I genuinely enjoyed watching Suits even though every season repeated itself. Angel’s main adversaries during his five-season adventure in Los Angeles were lawyers (until taking over the law firm itself in season five). Franklin & Bash was a fun ride until Heather Locklear put her death hooks into the show. And last but certainly not least, Better Call Saul is a calculating look at the evolution of Jimmy McGill into Saul Goodman. So of course, when a friend asked if I wanted to go to the sneak premiere of Bluff City Law, I figured it was worth a shot.

Mario’s Movie Musings: IT Chapter One & Two

Well, this review doesn’t really need any introduction, does it? We all know story of IT, it’s arguably Stephen King’s most famous novel. We all know the imagery of IT, the paper boat, the red balloon, the sewer grate, and the sharp teeth. We all know Bill, Ben, Bev, Eddie, Richie, Mike, and Stan. I’m sure many people my age are terrified of clowns thanks to Tim Curry’s iconic portrayal of Pennywise the Clown from the 1990 television miniseries.

Mario's Movie Musings: Rocketman

“People don’t pay to see Reginald Dwight, they pay to see ELTON JOHN.”

A line said during the film’s trailer of an argument between Elton John and his longtime friend Bernie Taupin (and according to them, their ONLY argument), made me think I was getting a completely different film than the one I saw. Sure, I saw the other parts of the trailer, but I was still shocked in hindsight.
